Photographer’s Bio  Brian began his journey with birds by enrolling in an Ornithology class at Hocking College in 1993. Six years later he began photographing the subjects he had come to know so well. His extensive photo files include over 400 species of North American birds captured on either 35mm film or digital media. Brian’s photographic journey has taken him all over North America.  Some of his most memorable trips have been to the arctic and sub arctic regions of Alaska and Canada. In June 2007 he spent two weeks photographing tundra nesting birds at Barrow, AK and in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.  In 2010 he returned to Barrow to co-lead a photographic workshop.  He is probably the bird photographer with the most experience at Barrow, Alaska’s northern most outpost.  That experience led to the creation of The Site Guide to Barrow Alaska.

Warblers are among Brian’s favorite subjects. He spends most of his free time in May photographing warblers at northern Ohio’s Magee Marsh Wildlife Area.  His work has been prominently featured in exhibits in the Bird Center at Magee Marsh, at the Lake Erie Nature and Science center in Bay Village, Ohio and more than thirty of his songbird images were featured at the National Center for Nature Photography in Toledo, OH.  Currently a selection of his photographic prints are available for purchase at the Black Swamp Bird Observatory gift shop at the entrance to Magee Marsh Wildlife Area.

Brian is a District Loss Prevention Manager for the Alpha Link Co.  overseeing more than twenty stores in NW Ohio.  He and his wife Stacey also raise paint horses on their farm in Oregon, OH where they enjoy raising one or two foals each spring.Brian also gives lectures on birds and photography.  His award-winning photography has been internationally published in various books and magazine including Birding World, Bird Watching and the American Birding Association’s magazine Birding.
